Hair bleach help!!!?

Ok first dont say go to a salon.

Anyway...I've been dying my hair black for 7 months, I have been redying it every 6 weeks. I wanted to go blonde since its spring and its getting nicer out and I'm totally bored of black hair. I have pretty thin hair but I've bleached parts of it before and it was fine. However I've never bleached all my hair at once. I want to go kind of a Lauren Conrad blonde (The girl in the show The Hills). I was gunna bleach my hair blonde or however light I can and then dye it the blonde I want with high and low lights. Should I bleach and dye on the same day? Or is that too damaging? And how long should I keep the toner in to make sure my hair isn't bright orange? How should I care for it after i bleach it since its gunna be very fragile? Any tips? I'm trying to learn as much as I can about it before I do it.

From a person with a TON of experience and who has been orange......Here is what you need to do grab the Clairol Nice 'n Easy Born Blonde Hair Color, Maxi (this is the bleacher) next you want your dye, I would recommend L'oreal Feria color 110 Starlet or color 82 Desert Flower.... Starlet would be the best for what you are wanting.

Do the bleaching kit and make sure you get past the orange phase .... your hair will go through a color scale as you color and the biggest issue is people follow the time on the box instead of watching their hair to see when they get past the orange. Rinse when the orange (highly unusual for this to take more than an hour).

Condition and dry your hair and then apply the dye. Use the dye conditioner in the box and then start the following routine to repair and protect your hair: Use an oil treatment (V05 has a great oil treatment) you can find it at any drug store. Saturate your hair with the oil (usually need more on the ends of your hair). Grab a hot damp towel and wrap your hair up, leave it on for 15 minutes or so then rinse with cold water.......3 minute miracle is a conditioner that works "miracles :P" on dry hair, it is by Aussie and hydrates very well. I would switch to an Olive oil shampoo and invest in some spray-in leave-in conditioner .... Biolage is a great product line and you can purchase it at the salon. Oil treatments should be done once a week for a month and you will see a major difference in your hair. 2-4 times a month in general....

If you can not get to the store for the oil treatment, use Olive oil in it's place.

Do the oil treatment then after that use the 3 minute miracle...... after that rinse and do not wash your hair for 2 days, this allows the natural oils from your scalp to reach from root to tip and this helps your hair heal on it's own....after 2 days shampoo with the above product(s).

You don't want to hear it, but if you don't want your hair to be an odd-colored, fried mess a salon is necessary. Any color specialist will tell you that black dye, especially when used repeatedly as you have been, is the most difficult shade to remove from hair. If a professional colorist is going to have trouble getting the color from your hair, what makes you think you'll be able to do it yourself at home? A salon will be able to properly remove the color to one that is natural-looking and decent using products that aren't nearly as damaging as the in-store hair bleaching products available. Seriously, if you do this at home your hair will end up a mess, if you have much hair left. But hey, if you don't believe me give it a go.

you should use a hair color remover first

such as Color Oops (can be purchased at any drugstore)

or Color Zap (cane be purchased at Sally's)

Hair color removers are less damaging then bleach

and better for your hair since they don't contain

ammonia or bleach. Once you strip your hair with the

color remover your hair will most likely be a brassy orange color. after that tone your hair with a blue based toner to get rid of the orange tones and then dye it whatever blond color you'd like.
