I want to put highlights in my black relaxed hair, help please?

i am black and most of us get relaxers or perms. i want to but highlights in my hair but some 1 told me that my hair will break off if i don't go into a shop and get it deep conditioned every week. is that true? i usally just put semi-permenant hair color in but my hair is a dark sandy brown/black color and the colors i use only look like i put a tent in my hair but i want the full color to show. whaat do u think?

Use the African Pride Hi-Lites Kit and do your streaks at home. I did it just last week. I have a perm too. BUT WAIT!!!! Dont do it the same week as your perm. Wait a couple of weeks after you get the perm before you hi-lite your hair. Make sure you do use a hot oil treatment and thats whether or not you get hi-lites. You should always deep condition your hair if you are black to restore the natural moisture after you wash your hair or perm it or whatever else.

you should put some red streaks in your hair. thats what my cousin did and she looks so pretty. except u dont want them too bright, u just want a little highlight, or a very dark brownish-reddish color.

Just do not mess with it you probably have beautiful natural color and once you start you can't quit,my advice do not start.Since you no longer have what they call virgin hair I would consult a stylist to make sure your hair can break off a lot easier than finner hair

it shouldnt break off unless u put it in there for like 5 hours too long

and about the color get the perment color and a lighter shad

~~buy a good conditioner from a beauty supply and 1time a week put it in for like 20 mins that should do it(if u find anything that has mint in it get it they work great!)

OK in order for your hair not to break off i think you need to go to the hair salon at least every 2 weeks...i had blonde highlights in my hair and my hair fell out big time....you would have thought i learned my lesson but i put it in my hair again....same thing happen and i was not going to the hair salon....so i recommend going to the beauty salon to treat your hair while you have highlights to prevent damage....
